In today's modern era, changing lifestyles have led to a worrying increase in heart disease cases. Keeping this serious matter in mind, and with the aim of further strengthening the knowledge and skills of doctors, the IMA College of General Practitioners (IMA CGP) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Surat, in collaboration with 'Iconic Heart Associates', successfully organized a special scientific seminar titled 'Cardio Update'.
Event Opening & Dignitaries
The seminar commenced with the IMA Prayer and Flag Salutation led by Dr. Haresh Bhavsar (Secretary, IMA Surat).
Dr. Mukur Petrolwala (President of the Association) then welcomed the invited guests and members.
Renowned state-level medical leaders from Gujarat attended as invited guests, including:

The seminar was officially inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the graceful presence of these dignitaries.
Key Sessions & Insights
IMA Initiatives: Dr. Mehul Shah shared information about various schemes run by the IMA for its members, while Dr. Tushar Patel provided details regarding the IMA GSB mobile application.
Hypertension & ECG: Dr. Dhaval Shah conducted a detailed discussion using a case-based practical approach regarding common mistakes made while prescribing hypertension (high blood pressure) medications. Additionally, he educated the doctors on 'ECG spotters'.
Cardiac Symptoms & Lipid Guidelines: Dr. Gunjan Malaviya provided vital guidance on how to early identify alarming cardiac symptoms in daily medical practice. He also shared information on the latest updates in lipid guidelines.
Advanced Cardiology: Well-known cardiologist Dr. Ravi Ankoliya delivered a scientific presentation on the latest innovations in coronary angioplasty, focusing specifically on modern techniques to remove calcified lesions (stone-hard blockages).
Conclusion
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Haresh Bhavsar (Secretary, IMA Surat). The stage management (Master of Ceremonies) was beautifully conducted by Mansi Patel.
